The epidemiological situation has stabilized in Russia. This was stated during a conference call of Rospotrebnadzor with the participation of its head Anna Popova, according to the department’s website.
“The epidemiological situation for coronavirus in Russia is characterized as stabilizing, there is a slowdown in the growth rate of the incidence of COVID-19,” the report says.
The daily incidence rate has decreased over the last week from 18.9 to 16.5 per 100 thousand people. However, in some regions the spread of the indicator varies from 2.44 to 67.98 per 100 thousand population. As noted by Rospotrebnadzor, current restrictive measures are needed.
The last two days in Russia, more than 24 thousand cases of COVID-19 have been detected per day. According to current information, the total number of infected people has grown to 3.3 million people.
The head of the Ministry of Health, Mikhail Murashko, clarified on January 6 that 76% of the bed capacity for patients with coronavirus is occupied in Russia. The situation with COVID-19, he said, has generally stabilized, but remains tense.
