The expert names the factors that influenced the destruction of the Armenian S-300 by Azerbaijan
The inconsistency of the actions of the calculations and the grouping of the Armenian air defense, the high technical characteristics of the Turkish military equipment and the advanced proven tactics of their use could affect the destruction by Azerbaijan of the S-300 complexes, which belong to the Armed Forces of Armenia. Such factors in an interview with “MK” were named by military expert Alexander Mikhailovsky.
“Let’s remember how this conflict began. Armenian air defense reported the destruction of enemy aircraft. All of them were confirmed. Then it turned out that they were shooting down the An-2 maize operators, ”he said.
According to Mikhailovsky, drones were made on the basis of these aircraft, which had a rather simple task: to fly along the line of contact and provoke the air defense of Armenia. “This is a great victory for Turkish unmanned aircraft. You can’t say otherwise. But again, the radars of the S-300 complex detect targets with an internal combustion engine – an airplane, a helicopter, a large drone. A low-flying kamikaze drone is not their target. For this, short-range air defense systems, which were destroyed earlier, should have been responsible, ”the military expert noted. He noted that such tasks can be solved by “Osa”, “Strela”, “Pantsir-S”.
Earlier, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry showed on video the destruction of the S-300 anti-aircraft missile system (SAM), which belonged to the Armenian Armed Forces. When exactly the air defense missile system was destroyed is not specified. Where the attacked S-300 was located is also not indicated.
Earlier, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan expressed the hope that Russia will take more effective measures to suppress the offensive actions of Azerbaijan and Turkey in the region than diplomatic mediation, and other mediating countries in resolving the Karabakh issue – the United States and France – will support her.
The situation in Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) escalated sharply on September 27. Azerbaijan reported that Armenian forces fired at its positions and settlements on the contact line and announced a counteroffensive. Armenia, in turn, blamed the Azerbaijani military for the attack on Artsakh. Later, Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed on an armistice and agreed to begin an exchange of prisoners and killed after the ceasefire came into force. The parties decided to cease fire from noon on October 10, but soon began to accuse each other of violations.
