A collector with power cables caught fire on Leningradsky Prospekt in Moscow. To extinguish the fire, emergency services disconnected 32 cables. 13 residential buildings were left without electricity.
“32 cables are disconnected in the collector, the fire and rescue units have started tactical ventilation and extinguishing,” a source in the emergency services told TASS.
The length of the collector in which the fire occurred is almost 6.5 km. It takes place at the beginning of Leningradsky Prospekt. One section of the collector, about 500 meters long, is still burning. According to Baza, firefighters have not yet been able to reach the fire due to high voltages in the manifold.
As specified in the Moscow Department of Transport, because of the emergency, the exit to the backup in the area of 45k1 along Leningradsky Prospect is blocked, traffic towards the center is difficult.
