Former Spartak player arrested on suspicion of stabbing
Ajax Ajax and the Netherlands national football team striker Quincy Promes has been arrested on suspicion of stabbing. De Telegraaf reported.
According to the source, the incident took place at the end of July during a family party. One of the guests was seriously injured and also suffered a knee injury. Promes is suspected of the attack. If the football player is proven guilty, he faces up to four years in prison.
This season Promes played 18 matches for Ajax in all tournaments. The player scored five goals and made one assist.
Promes gained fame in Russia thanks to his performances for Spartak Moscow. The Dutchman played for the red and white from 2014 to 2018, together with the team he became the champion and owner of the country’s Super Cup. As part of the Netherlands national team, Promes played 47 matches in which he scored seven goals.
