The spread of coronavirus in Russia has slowed down: over the past week, only 0.7 percent more cases of infection were detected in the country than in the previous week. On Sunday, December 20, TASS reports.
It is specified that over the past seven days, 194,449 cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in Russia. At the same time, a week earlier, slightly fewer new infections were confirmed – 193,158.
Also, as the agency writes, over the past two weeks in the country, the maximum number of people infected since the beginning of the pandemic has never been updated.
At the same time, the incidence increased: if last week, an average of 18.8 cases of infection per 100 thousand inhabitants were detected per day, then this week – 18.9. The spread of coronavirus in seven days rose from 1.03 to 1.05, according to TASS calculations.
The proportion of those who recovered in seven days increased from 79.4 percent to 79.9 percent. It is noted that with the same dynamics next week it will exceed 80 percent for the first time since the beginning of October.
To date, 2,848,377 cases of coronavirus infection have been detected in Russia in 85 regions. Over the entire period of the pandemic, 50,858 deaths were recorded, 2,275,657 people recovered.
