Pashinyan went into self-isolation on the day of protests at the cathedral in Yerevan
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan left for self-isolation due to the epidemiological situation, his press secretary Mane Gevorgyan told the state agency Armenpress. Before that, the opponents of the prime minister gathered at the Cathedral of St. George in Yerevan, Interfax specifies. People who were expecting Mr. Pashinyan’s participation in the Christmas service wanted to keep him out of the cathedral.
Ms. Gevorgyan did not elaborate on the reasons for self-isolation or possible contacts with patients with coronavirus. The press service of the Cabinet of Ministers did not clarify to RIA Novosti whether Mr. Pashinyan passed the COVID-19 test.
Note that Mr. Pashinyan postponed COVID-19 in the summer of 2020. On the eve it was reported that the President of Armenia Armen Sarkisian was diagnosed with a coronavirus. Symptoms of COVID-19 in Mr Sargsyan appeared after a leg operation he underwent in London on January 3.
