Russian hockey player remembered the difficulties in the USA
Russian CSKA defender Yegor Rykov remembered the difficulties in the United States, where he played before joining the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) club. His words are quoted by the website of the army club.
The 23-year-old hockey player admitted that he missed Russia. The main difficulty, he called the unusual mentality of the Americans. “The people there are completely different. The language barrier interfered. If I knew English it would probably be easier, ”he said. At the same time, Rykov said that despite his lack of knowledge of foreign languages, he could communicate with legionnaires at CSKA.
Rykov played in the United States from 2019 to 2020 in the American Hockey League (AHL), defending the colors of the Hartford Wolf Pack. The club is part of the New York Rangers system of the National Hockey League (NHL).
Before moving to North America, Rykov played in the KHL for SKA and Sochi. As part of the club from the banks of the Neva, he won the Gagarin Cup in 2017.
