Zhirinovsky proposed to prohibit turning off electricity and gas to debtors
The leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia Vladimir Zhirinovsky proposed to prohibit turning off electricity and gas for debts and collecting them through the sale of debtors’ property. He wrote about this in his Telegram channel after a fire broke out in a residential building in Yekaterinburg.
“People will not sit in the dark. Of course, they will use other methods of lighting – to burn candles, a torch, kerosene lamps. And all this is fire hazardous. The same is with gas People will look for something to replace gas with, ”the politician stressed.
Zhirinovsky proposed to collect the property of the debtors, to sell it and to compensate the debts at the expense of these funds. According to the deputy, it is impossible to leave people without electricity, gas or communications in winter, since debts do not cost their life and health.
A fire on the second floor of a residential building in the ZHBI microdistrict of Yekaterinburg occurred on the night of January 12. Presumably, one person died in the apartment where the fire took place, two more died on the staircase, the other five – residents of the upper floors, were poisoned by combustion products. Among the dead are also a Russian woman who asked for help on Twitter, and her seven-year-old daughter. The girl died on the way to the hospital.
The prosecutor’s office of the Sverdlovsk region called the careless handling of fire a possible cause of the fire in Yekaterinburg. The department said that the fire was in an apartment on the second floor near the sofa. They found many cigarette butts in the room, the residents used burners. A criminal case was initiated under part 3 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code (“Causing death by negligence of two or more persons”).
