NHL remembered Ovechkin’s “best puck of all time”
The National Hockey League (NHL) remembered the goal scored by Russian Washington Capitals forward Alexander Ovechkin against the Phoenix Coyotes in 2006. The video appeared on the organization’s Instagram.
“On this day in 2006, Alexander Ovechkin impressed the whole world with this puck,” says the caption to the video. On it, Ovechkin in the fall hits the gate of Brian Boucher.
“This is the best puck of all time,” one user commented on the post. “The greatest in history,” wrote another.
On January 15, in the opening match of the new NHL season against the Buffalo Sabers, Ovechkin assisted Niklas Backstrom in the fall. The meeting ended with the victory of the Capitals with a score of 6: 4.
Ovechkin has been playing for Washington since 2005. In 2018, the Russian led the Capitals to the first ever Stanley Cup victory in the club’s history.
