The Eternal Flame was extinguished in a Russian city due to cold weather
The eternal flame was extinguished in the city of Noyabrsk in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug due to abnormal cold weather. It is reported by “Komsomolskaya Pravda”.
According to the city administration, the gas supply to the memorial was temporarily stopped. This was done due to the almost 50-degree frost that was recorded in the region. In particular, according to the Gismeteo service, on January 24 and 25 in the city it is expected from minus 41 to minus 49 degrees.
It is noted that the Eternal Flame in Noyabrsk was extinguished on January 22. Gas supply to the memorial will be resumed when the air temperature rises.
Earlier in January, the Eternal Flame, located on the Field of Mars in St. Petersburg, went out. Vandals threw snow at the memorial, but experts promptly cleaned the burners.
