A suspect in the arson of a Rosgvardia car was detained in Moscow
A 26-year-old man was detained in Moscow, who is suspected of setting fire to a Rosgvardia car during an unauthorized rally in support of opposition leader Alexei Navalny on January 31. This is stated on the website of the capital’s headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
“He is suspected of setting fire to the wheel of a Rosgvardia official car on January 31 during an uncoordinated public event in the central part of the city,” the statement says.
A criminal case was initiated under Art. 167 of the Criminal Code (intentional destruction or damage to property).
Protests in support of Navalny were held in different regions of the country on January 23 and 31. According to OVD-Info, more than 4 thousand people were detained during the first, and more than 5 thousand during the second. Dozens of criminal cases were initiated, including the use of violence against law enforcement officers.
