Police detained a suspect in arson of a Rosgvardia car at a rally on January 31
A 26-year-old man was detained on suspicion of setting fire to a Rosgvardia car during a protest on January 31, the MIA General Administration for Moscow reported. Earlier, a criminal case was initiated on the fact of arson under Art. 167 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (intentional destruction or damage to property).
“He is suspected of setting fire to the wheel of a Rosguard service car on January 31 during an unauthorized public event in the central part of the city. The fire was immediately localized, there were no casualties, ”the Interior Ministry said in a statement. The agency did not specify the identity of the suspect, as well as his motives.
The car caught fire in Voznesensky Lane in Moscow. The initial examination established that the fire was near the rear wheel of the car. Rosgvardia and the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that technical problems were the preliminary cause of the fire.
