Immunologist Vladimir Bolibok appreciated the words of the doctor and TV presenter Alexander Myasnikov about the approaching epidemic “worse than the coronavirus.” He stated this in an interview with Vechernaya Moskva.

Bolibok, commenting on Myasnikov’s idea of ​​the need to develop a universal influenza vaccine, noted that influenza viruses, unlike COVID-19, are fairly well studied. He stressed that for this reason, there will be no problems with the vaccine. The doctor also said that, in addition to vaccines, it is necessary to have reserves for the provision of medical care and the restructuring of the industry, so that, if necessary, it would be possible to establish the production of drugs and protective equipment.

The specialist added that the lessons of the pandemic will lead to the emergence of advanced viral infection control centers, in which coronaviruses and adenoviruses will be studied. He explained that “you shouldn’t be afraid, but you have to be ready.”

Earlier, Myasnikov warned that humanity could face an epidemic more dangerous than a coronavirus pandemic. According to him, it is not known when a new infection will come, but until that time, scientists must develop a new universal influenza vaccine.
