An agreed rally against repression is being held in Kazan
In Kazan, on Millennium Square, from 12:00 in front of the Kazan Kremlin, a rally against detentions and political repression is being held. It was organized by representatives of Yabloko, PARNAS, and the Left Front. However, supporters of Alexei Navalny and members of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation also participate in the action. In addition to party banners, there are flags of Russia, Tatarstan and imperial tricolors.
Due to restrictions on coronavirus, the authorities agreed to a rally for only 200 people. However, several hundred more people stand behind the fences. The total number of those who came is about a thousand people.
The protesters demand freedom for political prisoners, including Alexei Navalny, shouting: “Putin is not our president.” The speakers also talk about the need to prepare for the elections to the State Duma.
