A sniper killed a DPR police officer who was saving children
An employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), who was saving children, died as a result of shelling in Donbass. This was reported by the press service of the department on its website.
Servicemen of the people’s militia of the DPR, who were at a combat post in the area of the Yasinovatskaya industrial zone, found the children between the positions, which they reported to the duty unit. An investigative and operational group was sent to the scene, which was supposed to evacuate the minors and ensure their safety.
However, during the event, the Ukrainian military fired at the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs with targeted sniper fire. As a result, one of them, junior police sergeant Voina V.I., was mortally wounded. The evacuation of the children had to be interrupted; their whereabouts are currently unknown.
On July 27, 2020, an indefinite ceasefire was announced in Donbass, agreed within the framework of the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) by representatives of Ukraine, Russia and the OSCE. This attempt to comply with the ceasefire agreement is the 21st in a row.
