Ukrainian border guards detained citizens of Russia and Belarus
Ukrainian border guards detained two citizens of Russia and Belarus, who reportedly crossed the Belarusian-Ukrainian border illegally, bypassing the checkpoint. This was announced on Sunday, March 14, at the press service of the State Border Service of the country.
“Two unknown persons, who were moving from the Ukrainian-Belarusian border, were noticed by the border guard of the Svityaz department near the Pishcha checkpoint,” the official website of the department says.
It is noted that the detained men had passports with them, but they wanted to enter the territory of Ukraine illegally. According to the alleged perpetrators, their plans included illegal travel through the territory of the European Union.
Currently, the men have been transferred to the border unit for verification.
In early December 2020, a shootout took place on the Russian-Ukrainian border. The FSB of Russia reported that at the site of the Border Directorate of the FSB of Russia for the Belgorod and Voronezh regions, three unknown persons with weapons tried to break into Russia from Ukraine. When trying to arrest the violators showed armed resistance. One of the attackers was killed.
