In Bangkok, police use water cannons against protesters
Police in Thailand fired water cannons at people demanding reform of the monarchy. Thousands of people have moved in Bangkok to the buildings of the Grand Royal Palace to push for changes for royalty, Reuters reported.
The protesters were blocked by a convoy of buses and a barbed wire fence. The demonstrators tried to walk from the Democracy Monument to the palace. Some of them managed to break through to Sanam Luang Square. Police used water cannons to stop the protest march.
In October, the Thai government declared a state of emergency (State of emergency) in the country due to protests in Bangkok. The authorities banned gatherings of five or more people, as well as the publication of news and messages on the Internet.
Later, the emergency was canceled. After that, protesters in Bangkok held a new rally over the refusal of Prime Minister Prayut Chan-Och to resign.
