Almost all participants in the Sunday protest action in Minsk were dispersed by law enforcement officers. This was reported by the Nekhta Telegram channel.
It is also said that law enforcement officers have liquidated a spontaneous memorial in memory of the deceased activist Roman Bondarenko. According to Tut.by, by 17:00 Moscow time, only a few small chains of people with white-red-white flags remained in Minsk, all metro stations closed earlier on Sunday were opened.
During the unauthorized march in memory of Bondarenko, protesters clashed with law enforcement officers. This was reported by Nasha Niva. Clashes with security officials took place on the so-called square of changes in the northern part of the Belarusian capital (the protesters named one of the courtyards of the city where Bondarenko was beaten). Stun grenades, tear gas, water cannons were used against the protesters. An ambulance arrived at the scene.

After the start of the action near the Pushkinskaya metro station, the security forces used tear gas against the demonstrators. Participants of the rallies and march are detained by law enforcement agencies.
Roman Bondarenko is a protester in Minsk who died in hospital on November 12. He was beaten by unknown persons wearing masks in the courtyard of the house. Doctors diagnosed him with cerebral edema, closed craniocerebral trauma, bruises, abrasions and hematomas.
A criminal case was opened in connection with the death of the activist. President of the country Alexander Lukashenko expressed his condolences to the relatives of the deceased and instructed to take his case under special control.
In early August, presidential elections were held in Belarus. According to the country’s Central Election Commission, Alexander Lukashenko won them, gaining more than 80% of the votes. Over 10% voted for his opposition rival Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, the CEC reported. Tikhanovskaya’s headquarters did not recognize the announced election results and demanded the transfer of power by peaceful means. Most Western countries did not recognize the results of the elections in Belarus.
On September 23, Lukashenko took office as president. The inauguration ceremony was held behind closed doors at the Palace of Independence in Minsk. He stated that the elections were transparent and fair.
Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Lukashenko on his victory in the elections.
