A third of Russians declared their readiness not to return loans to the bank
A third of Russians (33 percent) said they were ready not to return the loan to the bank, while condemning the failure to return the loan to a friend or relative. This is stated in the study of the analytical center NAFI (available at the disposal of “Lenta.ru”).
Moreover, more than half of Russians consider it necessary to fulfill their debt obligations. Most of the respondents do not blame people who could not repay the loan and went bankrupt. Almost three quarters of the respondents consider bankruptcy an “unpleasant circumstance” after which a person’s life “will not change radically” (73 percent).
About 71 percent are willing to do business with a person who has been declared bankrupt. Every fifth Russian (17 percent) does not read the loan agreement. According to NAFI, only about 1.8 million people are at risk in terms of debt burden.
In the country, the number of malicious defaulters on loans for the year increased by 2.1 million people and reached 11.7 million, since during the pandemic Russians had nothing to repay loans. By November 1, 111.3 billion rubles were forcibly collected from citizens.
