Bolivia registers Russian Sputnik V vaccine against coronavirus
Bolivia’s State Agency for Medicines and Health Technologies (Agencia Estatal De Medicamentos Y Tecnologías En Salud, AGEMED) has registered the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine. This is stated in the message of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, RDIF (at the disposal of RBC).
“The vaccine received AGEMED approval without additional clinical trials in Bolivia based on the results of phase III clinical trials in Russia,” the report says. Following a similar expedited procedure, the vaccine was registered in Argentina at the end of December.
According to the head of the RDIF, Kirill Dmitriev, the fund expects the registration of Sputnik V under an accelerated procedure in other countries of Latin America.
The first foreign country in which the authorities registered Sputnik V was Belarus. The country was also the first to take part in clinical trials of a Russian vaccine.
In addition, Sputnik V supplies to Serbia, India, Uzbekistan and Venezuela. On December 31, a contract for the supply of the Russian vaccine was signed with Algeria.
