Alikhanov responded to a Polish general who described the battles with NATO for Kaliningrad
According to the governor, thoughts about war scenarios in Kaliningrad “live only in the sick heads of retired generals of NATO countries.”
Thoughts about an armed conflict in the Kaliningrad region with the participation of NATO troops “live only in the sick heads of retired generals of NATO countries,” Governor of the Kaliningrad Region Anton Alikhanov told RBC.
So the head of the region commented on the article published in the Defense 24 edition of the former commander of the ground forces of Poland, General Waldemar Sksypchak. He, in particular, described a possible scenario of military operations in the Kaliningrad region with the participation of NATO troops. According to the general, in such a war, the forces of the Baltic Fleet and the troops of the Kaliningrad defense region will play a key role, and Russian troops will need from two to four days to capture the Baltic. Then the fighting will move to the southern part of the Baltic Sea and in the direction of the Polish coast, Sksipchak writes.
In a commentary to Komsomolskaya Pravda, Alikhanov noted that the Russian government “is difficult to blame for aggressive behavior”, pointing out that Poland was helped to rebuild by Soviet troops, thanks to which it was revived again and even within wider borders than before World War II.
“Stop strategizing who will invade where and which tanks will drive on which paving stones. We need to deal with other issues. We have wonderful programs of cross-border cooperation with Poland, ”Alikhanov said.
In late January, Overt Defense published an article describing the scenario of a NATO preemptive strike against Russia. The plan provided for the destruction of Iskander missile systems and S-400 systems in the Kaliningrad region, as well as the blockade of Baltiysk. In the offensive, according to the scenario, 30 thousand Polish soldiers should participate. The head of the press service of the government of the Kaliningrad region Dmitry Lyskov called such scenarios “fantasies”. “These fantastic scenarios are being written by dozens of different experts and institutions. It is impossible to call them other than fantasies, ”he said.
