Ukraine should take into account the interests of Chinese companies that have invested in the Motor Sich aircraft engine plant in Zaporozhye, said Zhao Lijian, a spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry. He said that Beijing insists on solving the issue “in the right way.”

“We demand that Ukraine take into account the legal rights of Chinese enterprises and investors,” Zhao Lijian said during a briefing (quoted by TASS). According to him, China is monitoring the situation and “insists that this issue be resolved in the right way.”

At the end of January, Ukraine imposed sanctions against Chinese investors in Motor Sich, the reasons for the restrictions were not disclosed. On the eve of the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov announced that the enterprise would be nationalized “in a constitutional way.” According to the leader of the Servant of the People party Alexander Kornienko, the bill on the nationalization of the enterprise will be presented in two to three weeks.
